We will soon say goodbye to all the birds
Twitter platform owner and American billionaire Elon Musk said today that the blue bird logo, which was considered a symbol of the brand, will be removed.
Where Musk announced via Twitter that the current logo of the blue bird will be replaced with a new logo represented by the letter "X" and added that the website address will be changed from "twitter.com" to "x.com".
This change is the biggest shift that Musk has made to the social media platform since his acquisition of it last year, as this comes in light of the escalation of competition with other platforms such as "Threads", "Tik Tok", "Facebook" and others.
It should be noted that this step may lead to a radical change in the identity of the platform and could have a significant impact on Twitter users and their policies for using the platform, and it is expected that the public will await the reactions and additional details that Elon Musk may reveal in the near future.
What is X Group of Companies?
In the beginning, the X group of companies, also known as X Corp, owned SpaceX and Neuralink, then Tesla was added to the group, and in April 2023, Elon Musk announced that Twitter no longer exists as an independent company, but has become part of X Corp.
SpaceX is a private company founded by Musk with the mission to explore space and make space travel more affordable and economical. SpaceX has developed innovative technologies, including reusable rockets and the Dragon spacecraft.
And of course, comes Twitter, now officially known as X. Followers are wondering about the new logo that will carry it and the possibility of changing the color theme in Twitter from blue to black.
It is noteworthy that the original Twitter logo was designed in 2012 by a team of three. One of the designers explained that the design was simple, balanced, and legible in small sizes that resemble the small “e”.
Weeks before he acquired Twitter last year, Musk said that buying the company would accelerate his ambition to build an app that collects everything under the "X" name within three to five years.
Twitter changes
Billionaire Elon Musk announced that after acquiring Twitter for $44 billion, the platform is suffering from a decline in its advertising revenues of nearly 50%.
In his tweet on Twitter, Musk responded to a user who made strategic suggestions for the future of Twitter, as he confirmed that the network is still suffering from negative cash flow due to low advertising revenue and burdens related to indebtedness.
Musk added that they must work on achieving positive cash flow before they can consider taking any further steps, and despite his announcement of these conditions, Musk did not provide additional details about his plans to deal with the challenges facing Twitter.
It is worth noting that Musk's steps since his acquisition of Twitter have alarmed users and advertisers on the platform, and recently, he announced a limitation of the number of tweets allowed per day for verified and unverified accounts, which sparked intense controversy.
Twitter also announced that the "TweetDeck" service will be restricted to owners of verified accounts only, which is another step that has sparked criticism from information professionals. It is expected that these challenges will continue to require more efforts and plans to restore the growth and stability of Twitter as a successful social and commercial platform.
The reason for changing the Twitter logo
This morning, the famous businessman, Elon Musk, revealed the change of the Twitter platform logo, where they replaced the famous blue bird with an “X” sign.
The Twitter platform changed the platform image on the official account from the sparrow to the letter "X". In addition, Twitter owner Elon Musk changed the image of his official account on Twitter and put the letter "X" instead of his image.
On the other hand, Twitter announced the imposition of daily restrictions soon on the number of direct messages that can be sent for unverified accounts, in order to send a limited number of direct messages, and Twitter reported that these restrictions will not exist for subscribers of paid Twitter Blue services, as users will need to pay a subscription fee to take advantage of this service.
So far.. the daily limit for direct mail has not been set, and these changes will begin to take effect from next Friday.
Advertising revenue sharing
Twitter has officially launched the Ad Revenue Sharing Program, which allows content creators to receive a portion of the advertising revenue that appears in the responses to the tweets they publish.
It was announced that the program will be launched on a larger scale next month, and that eligible content will be available to apply for the program after Twitter had already started paying money to some eligible content creators who have subscriptions to the Twitter Blue service, and notifications have already been sent to these content about the amounts of money owed to them from ads over the past few months since the program was announced and that those amounts will be deposited in their bank accounts.
This step may stimulate attractive and influential content on Twitter, where creators and distinguished content can benefit from the increased advertising revenue on the platform, as this program is an important step towards making Twitter a more attractive place for content and may increase the attractiveness of the short blogging platform for users and content makers alike.
